Qi Tonic Recipes
(1) Bai Bian Dou Porridge
Bai Bian Dou         50g
Rice                       200g
Water                      2000ml
Soak Bai Bian Dou for 12 hours and then cook it with  rice for 1-2 hours.  Sugar, salt, vegetables, and meats can also be added.
Function: Tonify Spleen qi and the middle jiao and stops diarrhea.

(2) Si Jun Zi Ji (Four Gentlemen Chicken)
Dang Shen (Ren Shen)    20g
Bai Zhu                           20g
Fu Ling                           20g
Gan Cao                         6g
Chicken or turkey           2 pounds
Salt
Ginger
Soak the herbs for 1 hour after cutting them into smaller pieces.  Chop the chicken into small pieces and put in a pot with the herbs and add the salt.  Other condiments may be added as well to modify the taste  Cook the chicken and herbs for 30 minutes to 1hour.
Function: Tonify Qi and boost the energy.

(3) Ren Shen Broth Chicken
Ren Shen                  30g
Chicken                      half pound
Green onion
Ginger
Salt
Cook Ren Shen for 10 minutes. Chop chicken into small pieces. Cut ginger and onion and add all ingredients into Ren Shen stock. Modifying taste with salt or other condiments
Function: Tonify qi (energy) and warm body.

(4) Huang Qi Ji Gu Tang ( Huang Qi with Chicken Bone Soup )
Huang Qi                       100g
Bei Sha Shen                  20g
Chicken bone                  100g
Soak Huang Qi and Sha Shen for 1 hour, then cut them into small pieces. Chop chicken bone into big pieces then put into boiling water  for  a couple of minutes. Pour water out. Adding more water  and cook for 1-2 hours with Huang Qi and  Bei Sha Shen. Modify taste with salt or other condiments.
Function: Tonify qi (lung qi ) and moisten lung.

(5) Ji Dan Hong Tang Da Zao Tang (Eggs with black sugar and Chinese date)
Egg                            2-4
Da Zao (date)           10-15 pieces
Black Sugar               200g
Soak Da Zao for 2 hours, then put into boiling water with black sugar for 20 minutes. Add eggs into the boiling sugar water for 1-2 minutes (don? stir) until egg cooks.
Function: Tonify qi and blood (qi and blood deficiency after childbirth).
 
(6) Shan Yao with Zi He Che Dish
Fresh Chinese yam     100g
Zi He Che                  50g
Vinegar
Salt
Vegetable
Chop the above ingredients into slices, then fry Chinese Yam with Zi He Che, adding other condiments.
Function: Tonify spleen and stomach; reduce edema (for chronic kidney diseases).
 
(7) Du Shen Tang (Single Ginseng Soup)
Ginseng                 100g
Water                      500ml
Cook Ginseng for one to tree hours, then combine with chicken soup or sugar.
Function: Tonify qi.

(8) Sheng Mai Yin (Ginseng, Mai Men Dong and Wu Wei Zi soup)
Ren Shen                   20g
Mai Dong                   15g
Wu Wei Zi                   15g
Sugar                            50g
Cook the above herbs together for half hour.
Function: Tonify Qi and Yin.

Yang Tonic Recipes
(1) Yi Zhi Qiang Xin Tang (Yi Zhi Ren strengthening heart soup)
Yu Zhu                     30g
Gou Qi Zi                15g
Gui Yuan (longan)      10g
Chicken                  one
Salt                          some
Ginger                     some
Chop chicken into big pieces and combine with the above 3 herbs plus water.  Cook for 30 minutes. Modify with condiments.
Function: Strengthen heart function and tonify kidney.

(2) Deer Meat with Shan Yao Gou Qi Zi Soup
Deer meat   100g
Shan Yao    60g
Gou Qi Zi   60g
Pepper
Ginger
Salt
Green onions
Cooking wine
Cut deer meat into big pieces. Fry with green onions and ginger. Add ingredients into clay pot with Gou Qi Zi, Shan Yao plus salt and cook for 1 hour. Add pepper and a little wine to modify tastes.
Function: Tonify kidney and benefit the brain.

(3)  Ren Shen Long Yan Zhu Ti Tang (Pig feet with ginseng and longan)
Pig feet    1000g
Ginseng     10g
Longan     30g
Pepper
Ginger
Salt
Green onions
Cooking wine
Wash pig feet and cut each into two pieces. Place in clay pot and cook for 1-2 hours adding other condiments.
Function: Tonify Yang and nourish Qi.

 (4) Niu Rou Lian Ou Tang (Beef with Lotus root soup)
Beef     1000g
Longan    30g
Dang Shen   30g
Pepper
Ginger
Salt
Green onions
Cooking wine
Cut beef into big pieces, cook with the above condiments for 1 hour.
Function:  Tonify spleen Yang and supplement qi

(5) Lu Rong Chi Chi Tang (Chicken wine tender deer horn soup )
Chicken     500g
Cooking wine   30g
Lu Rong    30g
Water    2000ml
Pepper
Ginger
Salt
Green onions
Wine
Cook chicken and wine on low heat for 1 ? hours with Lu Rong.
Add the above condiments.
Function: Tonify kidney and liver yang.

 (6) Si Wu Yang Gan Tang (Lamb liver with Four Gentlemen Soup)
Lamb liver   200g
Dang Gui   10g
Shu Di Huang   30g
Chuan Xiong   5g
Bai Shao   15g
Wood ears   20g
Pepper
Ginger
Salt
Green onions
Cooking wine
Cut lamb liver into slices.  Cook Wood Ears for 10 minutes.  Add all ingredients and cook for 1 hour.
Function: for Liver blood deficiency, tonify Liver, nourish blood and brightens the eyes.

(7) Shen Ge Chong Cao Ji Rou Tang (Chicken with Dong Chong Xia Cao and ginseng)
Chicken                      1

Green onions
Cooking wine
Cutting chicken into big pieces.  Cook with the above ingredients for 1-2 hours.
Function: Tonify Lung, Kidney yang and qi.
 
Yin Tonic Recipes
(1) Dong Gua Huo Tui Tang (Ham and Winter Melon Soup)
Dong Gua (Winter melon)    500g
Tian Men Dong     10g
Mai Men Dong      10g
Gao Tang       4 cup
Ginger        3 pieces
Cooking wine      1 table spoon
Salt        1 teaspoon
1.  Rinse the herbs and drain.  Add 3 cups water and bring to a boil.  Turn the heat to low and simmer until the soup reduces to 1 cup.  Strain the soup and discard the dregs.
2.  Wash the ham and cut into 0.5 inch thick slices.  Steam for 20 minutes.  Wash Dong Gua, peel the skin and remove the seeds.  Cut the Dong Gua into 1 inch thick slices.
3.  Put Dong Gua and the herbal liquid in a soup pot and bring it to a boil.  Turn the heat to low and simmer until thoroughly cooked (about 15 minutes).  Add the ham and bring to a boil.  Serve.
Function: Clear summer and lung heat; relieves thirst and reduces interior heat.

(2) Mi Zhi Qian Shi (Honey elixir)
Bai Guo (Ginkgo nuts)   40g
Qian Shi (Euryale seeds)   30g
Da Zao (Chinese date)   30g
Lian Ou (Lotus root)    40g
Long Yan Rou (Longan)   10g
Bing Tang (Rock sugar)   50g
Peel the skins off the lotus roots, rinse, and then cut into small cubes.
Boil the lotus roots in 12 cups of water over high heat.  Turn the heat to low and simmer until tender (about 1.5 hours).  Add other herbs and simmer 30 minutes more. Add rock sugar and stir until dissolved.
Turn off the heat and allow to cool.   Then stir in honey and serve.
Function: Effective tonic for improving body functions.  Effective in regulating vaginal discharges.  Increases male sexual ability.

(3) Yang Yan Bai Li (Moistening face with  white pear)
Pears         6 pieces
Xing Ren powder (Apricot seed )   15g
Chuan Bei Mu powder (Fritillaria )  15g
Bai He  powder (Lily bulb )    15g
Lian Ou powder (Lotus root)    15g
Feng Mi (Honey)       100g
Wash the pears, cut off a slice 2.5 cun below the stem from each to make six pear lids. With a spoon, scoop out each pear pit and a little pear meat as well.
Bring herbal liquid and 3cups of water to a boil, turn off the heat and mix in the honey. Pour the herbal decoction into each pear cup, and cover with the pear lid.  Steam the pear cups until the pears are tender.  Serve.
Function: Soothes throat and regulates intestinal functions.  Reduces chronic pharyngitis, vocal cord inflammation and coughing.

(4) Yu Zhu Ji ( Chicken with Solomon Seal)
Shan Yao (Chinese yam)    30g
Yu Zhu (Solomon Seal)    25g
Ji (Chicken)      1 (one or two pounds))
Jiang (Ginger)      5 pieces
Cong (Green onion)     5 pieces
Yan (Salt )      1 tea spoon
Rinse the Chinese herbs and drain.  Add 8 cup water and bring to a boil.  Turn the heat to low and simmer until the soup reduces to 4 cups.  Strain the soup and discard the dregs.
Wash the chicken.  Scald in boiling water for 2 minutes.  Remove, rinse under cold water then drain and pat dry.
3.   Place the chicken and herb soup in a ceramic pot; cover with a lid.  Steam until tender.  Remove the ginger root slices and green onion sections.  Serve.
Functions: Replenishes Qi and Yin.  Reduces thirst.  Effective for diabetes, malnutrition, and restores energy.

(5) Wu Ren Run Fei Tang (Five seed soup that moistens the lungs soup)
Bai Guo (Ginkgo nut)      20g
Xing Ren (Apricot seed)     20g
He Tao (Walnut)      20g
Song Zi Ren (Pine nuts)     20g
Hua Sheng Ren(Peanuts)     20g
Ji Dan (Eggs)       5g
Clean the ginkgo nuts, add 0.5 cup water and steam until tender (about 30 minutes). Keep the juice for later use. Rinse the Xing Ren and soak with 0.5 cup water.
Heat a wok, add 1 cup oil and fry  over low heat until golden, remove and drain. Mix the fried sugar steamed ginkgo nuts, ginkgo juice and Xing Ren with the soaking water in a blender at low speed until finely grated (about 5 minutes).
Mix the eggs with 1 cup water and sieve into a lined container. Pour in the ingredients from step b. Steam over low heat for 25 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow it to sit inside the covered steamer for 10 more minutes.
Invert the egg cake onto a plate and cut into serving pieces. Pour the honey over the egg cake and serve.
Function: For all seasons to soothe the respiratory system and reduce cough. Effective for asthma, bronchitis, chronic bronchitis, and liquefies sputum.

Blood Tonic Recipes
(1) Si Wu Ning Meng Ji Tang (Four Materials with Lemon Chicken Soup)
Dang Gui    10g
Shu Di Huang    15g
Chuan Xiong    5g
Bai Shao    5g
Lemon     3 pieces
Sugar      100-200g
Chicken breast    5 pieces
Eggs     2 pieces
A. Cook Dang Gui, Shu Di Huang, Chuan Xiong, Bai Shao for 20 minutes and mix with sugar and lemon juice.
B. Slice chicken breast into three pieces and coat with eggs then flour.
C. Fry in hot oil until yellow brown.
D. Pour the decoction onto the fried chicken.
Function: Tonify Qi and blood.

(2) Wu Ji Bu Xue Tang (Black Chicken with Dang Gui Soup)
Dang Gui   30g
Huang Qi   100g
Sheng Jiang   15g
Cong    15g
Hu Jiao    5g
Salt
Chop chicken into big pieces. Cooking with Dang Gui and Huang Qi in clay pot for 30 minutes. Add other condiments.
Function: Tonify Qi and nourish blood.

3. E Jiao Mi (E Jiao with Honey)
E Jiao      5-10g
Honey    30g
Water    1.5 cup
Dilute E Jiao in warm water, add honey and stir.
Function: Tonify and stop bleeding.

4. Dang Gui Sheng Jiang Yang Rou Tang (Lamb Meat with Dang Gui Soup) - for liver and kidney
Dang Gui    20g
Sheng Jiang    30g
Yang Rou    500g
Cooking wine
Salt
Wash and cook lamb meat for 30 minutes. Add Dang Gui, Sheng Jiang and cooking wine and cook for 10 minutes.
Function: Warm Middle Jiao and tonify blood; dispel cold and stop pain.

5. Qing Long Bai Hu Tang (Green dragon and white tiger soup)
Spinach   100g
Dou Fu    200g
Salt
Sesame oil
Green onions
Wash spinach and put in boiling water for 1 minute. Cook spinach with Dou Fu in fresh water. Add condiments.
Function: Tonify blood and clear heat.

6. Bao Chao Zhu Gan (Frying Pig Liver in Big Fire)
Zhu Gan    100g
Jiang     20g
Cong    30g
Garlic    15g
Salt
Oil
Cooking wine
Slice pig liver into thin pieces then fry for 1-3 minutes. Add the other ingredients.
Function: Tonify blood and brighten eyes.

Lung Tonic Recipes
1.  Bai He Diet (Gruel with lily Bulb) for lung Yin deficiency
Ingredients
Fresh lily bulbs      30-50g
Polished round-grained rice      50g
Rock sugar       as desired
Wash rice and bring to a boil. Simmer for 40 minutes adding the lily bulbs. Add rock sugar before eating.
Function: Recuperating the lung, nourishing the spleen and relieving asthma and cough.
Deficiency of lung-yin and weakness of the spleen-qi, manifested as dry cough, asthma, lassitude, fever of deficiency type and fidgeting.

2. Huang Qi Gao (Soft Extract with Astragalus Root) for lung Qi and Lung Yin deficiency
Ingredient
Crude astragalus root (Huang Qi)      12g
Gypsum (Shi Gao)       12g
Ophiopogon japonicus (Mai Dong)      12g
Liquorice (Gan Cao)       6g
Chinese Yam (Shan Yao)       10g
Honey         30g
Grind the Shi Gao into fine powder, decoct it together with Mai Dong. R emove the dregs and let the decoction settle to obtain a clear decoction. Put yam powder into the extract and cook together. The decoction will become a kind of thick extract after it has boiled. Mix honey into the extract and stop heating when it simmers.
Function: Recuperating the lung, clearing heat and moistening dryness of the lung.
Persistent asthma and cough due to slight affection by wind-cold, especially in winter, which is caused by impairment of the purifying and descending function of the lung resulting in deficiency of both qi and yin.
 
3. Chuan Bei Niang Li (Steamed Pear with Tendril-leaved Fritillary Bulb) for clearing lung heat and moistening lung
Ingredients
Snow pear (Xue Li)       2 pieces
Tendril-leaved fritillary bulb (Chuan Bei Mu)   50g
Honey         100g
Have Chuan Bei Mu beaten into powder.  Have the pears peeled and cut into big slices, add honey and Chuan Bei Mu powder on top of pears. Steam for 30 minutes.
Function: Moistening the lung, resolving phlegm, and removing fire and heat from the lung. Cough due to consumption, or dry cough, sputum mixed with blood; or lung heat, manifested as cough, asthma and difficulty breathing, yellowish and thick sputum.

4. Zhi Ma Cake (The Cake of Sesame seeds) for tonifying lung and kidney yin
Ingredient:
Sesame seeds         50g
Peanut         50g
Apricot seed (Xing Ren)      30g
Black sugar        100g
Olive oil        50g
Fry sesame seeds and peanut and grind into powder. Mixed with black sugar and oil. Make flour into dough, then make the dough into a cake and a steam for 15 minutes
Function: Tonify lung, kidney and moisten large intestine.

5. Xian Zhu Ye Huang Li Gao (Fresh Bamboo Leaf with Yellow Pear) for clearing lung heat and transforming phlegm
Huang Li (Yellow pear)     100 pieces
Fresh bamboo (Zhu Ye)    100 g
Fresh Lu Gen     30 pieces
Tangerine peed (Chen Pi)    10 pieces
Water Chestnut (Bi Qi)   50 pieces
Chop into small pieces and cook until juice is obtained. Eat pear and drink juice.
Function: Detoxifying and moistening lung.

6. Mai Dong Bei Mu Zhou (Porridge with Mai Men Dong and Chuan Bei Mu) for tonifying lung Yin
Mai Men Dong    10g
Chuan Bei Mu     12g
Bai He (Lily bulb)    30g
Geng Mi (Rice)    100g
Bing Tang (Rock sugar)
Method: Soak the above for 12 hours, cook together until porridge consistency is obtained (1-2 hr.)
Function: Tonify lung yin and stop cough.

7. Xing Ren Dao Xiao Mian (Knife noodle with Xing Ren) for stopping cough and transforming phlegm
Apricot seed  (Xing Ren)   30g
Peanut (Hua Sheng)    100g
White sesame (Bai Zhi Ma)    50g
Soy Sauce      50g
Vinegar
Sugar
Sesame oil
Mix vegetable
Salt
Black pepper
Olive oil
1.   Fry Xing Ren, Hua Shen, Bai Zhi Ma and crush into powder.
Mix soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, vegetables salt and pepper together to make a sauce.
Make dough with ingredients from steps 1 and 2, cut into small pieces and toss into boiling water.
Function: Tonify lung Yin, stop cough and transform phlegm

Spleen Tonic Recipes
1. Lian Zi Chao Mi Xian (Fried Rice Noodle with Lotus)
Lotus    50g
Rice noodles  500g
Vegetable
Salt
Oil
Soy sauce
Soak lotus for 12 hours.  Chop the vegetables.  Cook rice noodles about 7 minutes.
Fry all of the above together in oil.
Function: Tonify the Spleen and stops diarrhea

2. Shan Yao Chun Juan (Egg roll with Chinese Yam)
Cabbage      0.5 lb
Celery      0.5 lb
Carrot       0.5 lb
Onions     0.5 lb
Ginger     30g
Vegetable   oil   2 Tbs
Shan Yao powder   100g
Salt      1 tsp
Peanut sauce    1 Tbs
Eggs      4 eggs
Eggroll wrappers   20 pieces
Chop all the vegetables, fry the eggs and mix the ingredients together.  Roll the ingredients into eggrolls and frying in oil until light brown.
Function: Tonify spleen, lung and kidney qi.

3.  Fu Ling Bao Zi (Fu Ling Dumpling)-Strength the spleen and drain edema
Fu Ling   50g
Meat   100g
Cabbage  100g
Egg   1 egg
Black pepper
Ginger
Salt
For the dough, mix flour, yeast (3 grams), and water
Grind Fu Ling into small pieces and mix with the flour, water, and yeast to make a dough and let sit for 4 hours.  Chop the meat, cabbage, egg, and ginger into small pieces.  Roll out dough and make into dumplings with the meat filling.  Steam for 20-30 minutes.
Function: Tonify the Spleen and drain dampness
 
4. Yi Yi Ren Nuo Mi Xi Fan (Sweat rice with Yi Yi Ren porridge)-
Strengthening spleen and kidney
Yi Yi Ren (Job? tears barley)    50g
Long Yan Rou  (Longan)    50g
Da Zao  (Chinese date)    50g
Sweet rice       100g
Black sugar      30g
 
Soak Yi Yi Ren and Da Zao  for 12 hours.  Cook the sweat rice for 1 hour and then add all the ingredients.
Function: Tonify Spleen and Kidney Qi.
 
5. Chen Pi Ji (Orange Chicken)-Strengthens the Spleen
Chen Pi (Tangerine peel)  20g
Chicken    1 lb
Ginger     20g
Carrot     1 piece
Onion     1 piece
Sugar     100g
Vinegar    50ml (5%)
Sesame oil    5 ml
Red chili     2 pieces
Mushroom sauce
Sauce: chop up the ginger, add sugar and Chen Pi.  Cook for 10 minutes, add the mushroom sauce, vinegar, red chili, and sesame oil.
Chop the chicken, then coat with starch or flour.  Add carrot slices and chopped onion.
Function: Regulating stomach qi and drying dampness.

6. Qian Shi Shao Mai (Qian Shi with Dumplings)
Qian Shi     30 g
Dough
Meat       1 lb
Salt      1 tsp
Oil      1 Tbs
Egg      1 egg
Ginger      10 g
Green onion    2 pieces
Grind the meat and mix with the Qian Shi, salt, egg, ginger, and green onion.  Wrap the filling mixture with the dough.  Steam in a pot for 30 minutes.
Function: Tonify spleen qi and astringe esssence

7. Suan La Tang (Hot and Sour Soup)
Hai Dai      100g
Dou Fu Pi (Tofu skin)  30g
Huang Hua Cai     20g
Zhu Sun (Bamboo)    30g
Tofu       50g
Mu Er (wood ears)   20g
Mushroom      10g
Black pepper     5 g
Salt       2 tsp
Vinegar      30 ml
Mushroom sauce     20 ml
Red chili     5 g
Cut all the ingredients into slices, mix together, and soak over night.  Cook soup for 2 hours.  Add vinegar and salt to adjust the taste.
Function: Warm stomach, relieving exterior cold and regulate qi

8. Lian Zi Mi Fan (Rice with Lotus seed)
Lotus      50g
Rice      300g
Function: Tonify spleen and stomach.

9. Xiao Mi Bian Dou Zhuo (Millet porridge with Bai Bian Dou)ing Spleen
Millet      100g
Bai Bian Dou               30g
Soak millet and Bai Bian Dou for 12 hours.  Then add water and cook for 1-2  hours.
Function: Strengthen the spleen

Kidney Tonic Recipes
1.  Zhu Shen Zhou (Pig’s Kidney Porridge)
Pork Kidney     2 pieces
Rice       50g
Scallion
Ginger
Salt
Wash the kidney, remove the membrane, and cut it into slices.  Cook all the ingredients.
Function: Replenish the kidney and strengthen the loins.  Pain and lassitude in the loins and knees, difficulty walking, deafness and other symptoms caused by deficiency of the kidney-qi in old age.

2. Dun Zhu Yao (Stewed Pork Kidney) for tonifying kidney qi and yang
Pig’s Kidney (Zhu Shen)   2
Eucommia Bark (Du Zhong)   15g
Walnut (He Tao)     30g
Cut the pig’s kidney into two parts, remove the renal calyces and wash them clean.  Stew the pig’s kidneys together with Eucommia bark and walnut until they are done. Remove the Eucommia bark and walnut kernels.
Function: Replenish the kidney, supplement Yang.

3. Tu Si Zi Wan (Pill of Dodder Seed) for tonifying kidney essences
Dodder seed (Tu Si Zi)    150g
Poria (Fu Ling)     100g
Lotus seeds (Lian Zi)     60g
Rice Wine
Grind the above three herbs into fine powder; beat in rice wine to make paste, and then make it into small pills. Keep the pills in a bottle for later use.
Function: Tonify kidney qi , essence and helps hypofunction of the bladder, manifested as enuresis accompanied with soreness of low back, frequent micturition, incontinence and dribbling urine in cold weather and without the sensation of burning pain.

4. He Tao Ya Zi (Fried Duck with Walnut) for tonifying kidney qi and essence
Walnut kernel (He Tao)    200g
Water chestnut (Bi Qi)    150g
Duck (Ya Zi)       1
Minced chicken       100g
Scallion
fresh ginger
salt
egg white
cooking wine
corn flour
gourmet powder
peanut oil
Cut the duck and put scallions, fresh ginger, salt and cooking wine with the duck.  Steam the duck until it is thoroughly done.  Make paste by mixing the minced chicken, egg white, corn flour, gourmet powder, cooking wine and salt  Put the minced walnut kernel and water chestnuts into the paste.  Pour cooking oil into a pan, put in the duck and spread some minced paste around the duck.
Function: Replenishing the kidney and arresting seminal emission, warming the lung to prevent asthma, loosening the bowel to relieve constipation. Deficiency of the kidney, manifested as cough, pain in the waist, impotence, seminal emission, constipation, stranguria caused by the passage of urinary stones.

5. Niu Shen Dao Xiao Mian (Cutting dough with Cow’s kidney) for tonifying kidney qi
Flour         500g
Cow’s kidney         1
Ginger
Green onion
Salt
Sesame oil
Make flour into dough and cut into the small pieces. Place in boiling water.
Wash and cut cow’s kidney into small pieces. Add the rest of ingredients and fry in a pan with the boiled dough mixture.
Function: Replenishing the kidney and arresting seminal emission, warming the lung to   prevent asthma, loosening the bowel to relieve constipation.
 
6.  Long Yan Bao Zi ( Longan Dumpling ) for tonifying kidney qi and yang
Longan (Long Yan Rou)       50g
Da Zao (Chinese Date)       50g
Sesame (He Zhi Ma)        50g
Peanut (Hua Sheng )        50g

Flour           as needed
Sesame oil (Ma You)        20ml
Long Yan Rou and Da Zao: soak them over night. Chop into small piece.
Hua Sheng and Hei Zhi Ma: fry and grind into small piece. Mix all ingredients with sugar and oil.
Add 5 grams of yeast and 2 pounds of Hei Zi Ma with flour.  Let sit for 1 hour. Mix in the rest of ingredients. Steam or fry.
Function: Tonifying blood and calming Shen, nourishing Kidney yin and strengthening bone.

7.  Tu Si San Yao Zhou (Tu Si Zi and Shan Yao porridge) for tonifying kidney yang
Dodder seed (Tu Si Zi)       50g
Shan Yao (Chinese Yam)       50g
Sweet rice (Nuo Mi)        150g
Soak Tu Si Zi and Shan Yao for 12 hours. Combine with sweet rice for one hour
Function: Tonifying kidney Yang

8. Ba Jie Tian Dumpling for tonifying kidney yang
Ba Jie Tian          50g
Gou Qi Zi          50g
Celery           150g
Cabbage         150g
Carrot           50g
Eggs
Sesame oil
Salt
Make Ba Jie Tian into power. Chops other materials into small pieces and mix them together.
Make dumpling. Fry or steam in pot.
Function: Tonify kidney Yang

Heart Tonic Recipes
1. Yun Er Zhu Rou (Wood ears with pork porridge) for tonifying heart qi and yang
Ingredient:
Wood ears                15g
Ground Pork           120g
Eggs            2
Rice noodle            15g
Long Yan Rou (Longan)      15g
Ginger                    5g
Soy sauce
(1) Soak wood ear, Long Yan Rou and rice noodles until soft
Mix ground pork with soy sauce and form into balls.
Put wood ears, ginger, rice noodles into boiling water, then add pork balls and stir in beaten eggs.
(4) Add salt, sesame oil and green onion.
Function: tonify heart qi and yang

2. Yang Rou Ren Shen Wan (Lamb with ginseng ball) for tonifying heart qi and yang
Ingredient
Lamb meat   100g
Ginseng powder  5g
Fry Bu Gu Zhi   5g
Shu Fu Zi   5g
Shan Yao (Chinese Yam )      10g
Fu Ling    5g
Ginger juice   5g
Salt     2g
Chinese cabbage                     100g
Cook wine   5g
Egg    1
Starch    15g
Pepper    a litter
Method: (1) Bake Bu Gu Zhi, Shu Fu Zi, Shan Yao, Bai Fu Ling and grind into powder. (2) Grind lamb meat. (3) Add ginseng powder, ginger juice, salt, wine, starch, egg and roll into small ball. (4) Place small ball into boiling water and cook, adding Chinese cabbage, pepper and salt.
Function: Tonifying heart qi and blood, strengthens the body.

3.  Xia Ren Longan Ban Xi Qin (shrimp with western celery) for strengthening heart and kidney
Ingredient
Shrimp    250g
Longan   50g
Celery    450g
Pepper
Starch
Vegetable
(1) Soak shrimp with wine and salt
(2) Fry celery, shrimp, starch, wine and salt.
Function: Tonifying heart and kidney qi.

4. Hu Po with Pig heart for calming heart shen
Ingredient
Pig heart   1
Hu Po    5g
Dang Shen powder  5g
Method: Chop pig heart into small pieces, mix with  powder of Hu Po and Dang Shen. Fry in a pan.
Function: Calming shen and treating heart diseases.

5. Yu Zhu Lan Zi sugar for tonifying heart  qi and lung yin
Ingredient
Yu Zhu   250g
Lian Zi (Lotus seeds)              100g
White Sugar   300g
Method: (1) Cook Yu Zhu and Lian Zi three times (20 minutes each time) .(2)  Add white sugar together and drink.
Function: Tonifying heart qi and lung yin

6. Pigeon with coconut milk for tonifying heart blood and kidney yang
Ingredient
Pigeon      1
Coconut      1
Carrot     1
Lean pork     100g
Sliced ginger   20g
Water     200g
Method: (1) Cube lean pork and blanch with pigeon in boiling water for 1 minute.
(2) Open a coconut. Take out the coconut meat and milk and set aside (3) Peel and dice carrot (3) Put pigeon, coconut meat and milk, carrot, pork, ginger and water into pot. Cook over low heat for 2 hours. Pour in coconut milk and cook for 15 minutes.
Function: Strengthening heart blood and kidney yang

Liver Tonic Recipes

1. Shan Zha Ju Hua Cha (Hawthorn fruit + chrysanthemum) for  treating essential hypertension, high cholesterol, coronary heart disease
Ju Hua        9g
Shan Zha       12g
Boil both ingredients and make into tea.
Function: Treating hypertension or coronary heart disease.

2. Ju Hua Lu Cha Yin (Chrysanthemum with green tea) for treating hypertension
Ju Hua       6g
Huai Hua (sophora flower)    6g
Greet tea      3g
Boil both ingredients and make into tea.
Function: Treating hypertension or coronary heart disease.

3. Shuang Er Tang (Two mushroom soup) for tonifying liver and kidney Yin
Yin Er (Tremella)            9 g
Hei Mu Er (Black wood ear, Auricalaria)   9 g
Bing Tang (Rock sugar)     10 g
Function: Tonifying deficiency of both the liver-yin and the kidney-yin

4. Qin Cai Da Zhao Tang (Celery with Chinese date)
Qin Cai (Fresh celery)       100g
Da Zao (Chinese date)                          15 piece
Function: Calming liver yang

5. Shan Zha Jue Ming Tang (Decoction of Hawthorn Fruit and Cassia Seed) for clearing liver yang
Shan Zha (Hawthorn)  15g
Jue Ming Zi (Cassiae)  15g
Boil ingredients and make into tea.
Function: Treating both essential hypertension and hyperlipidemia accompanied with constipation.

6. Hai Dai Lu Dou Tang (Soup of sea weed with green bean)
Lu Dou (Mung Bean)
Hai Dai (Kelp)
Bing Tang (Rock sugar)
Function: Calming hypertension and hyperlipidemia (mild)

7. Ju Hua Tea (Chrysanthemum) for treating hypertension
Ju Hua                      5g
Gou Qi Zi                 5g
American Ginseng    3g
Gan Cao                5g
Rock sugar             20g
Boil into one cup of tea
Function: Tonifying qi and clearing liver yang, brightening eye.

8. Hai Dai Bao Zi (Sea weed dumpling) for calming hypertension
Hai Dai (Japanese sea tangle)    200g
Qin Cai (Celery)     300g
Xiang Gu (mush room)    30g
Ju Hua (Chrysanthemum)    10g
Luo Bu (Carrot)     30g
Xiang Gu (Mushroom)                                               20g
Egg
Oil
Salt

(1) Soak Hai Dai and Xiang Gu in water for 12 hours. (2) Chop other ingredients into small pieces. (3) Fry egg and cut into small piece (4) Mix flour with yeast and warm water (5) Making into dumpling and steam.
Function: Calming liver Yang and hypertension.
 
9. Du Zhong Hun Dun (Du Zhong Wang Tang) for calming liver yang
Du Zhong                                                        30g
Chicken meat                                                  100g
Dough                                                              30pieces
Soy sauce
Salt
Green onion
Ginger
Sesame oil (a couple of drops)
(1) Fry Du Zhong with salt water.
(2) Cook half hour and filter.
(3) Mix in meat and make dumpling
Function: Tonifying kidney and liver, calm hypertension.
 
Anti-cancers Recipes
1. Lu Gen with Yi Yi Ren
Lu Gen      30g
Yi Yi Ren     12g
Tao Ren      9g
Dong Gua Zi     12g
Put all the above together and cook with water
Function: Treating lung cancer
2. Bai Hua She She Cao
Bai Hua She She Cao    60g
Ban Zhi Lian      60g
Put both herbs into clay pot and cook together.
Function: Treating lung cancer in early stage
3. Da Suan Tou Cu Fang (Garlic with vinegar)
Garlic       500g
Vinegar      500ml
Soak for half month. Eat 2-3 pieces each time.
Function: Relieves swelling and detoxifies.
4. Yi Mi Zhou (Yi Yi Ren Porridge)
Yi Yi Ren      100g
Rice       200g
Water      2000ml
Cook for 1 hour.
Function: Tonifying spleen, draining damp and treating cancer
5. Hou Tou Gu Dou Fu (Monkey meat and mushroom with bean curd)
Hou Tou Gu       100g
Tou Fu      200g
Mu Er      10g
Xiang Gu                      10g
Bo Luo                       20g
Fry all ingredients.
Function: Strengthening spleen and relieving stomach cancer.

6. Long Yan Ji Ding (Longan Chicken)
Long Yan Rou     10g
Chicken breast    200g
He Tao      4 pieces
Egg       1
Yan Xu      50g
Salt
Vegetable
Soybean sauce
Garlic
Onions
Pepper
Fry the above ingredients.
Function: Calming shen and benefiting qi.

7. Mi Hou Tao Niu Rou Tang (Kiwi with beef soup)
Mi Hou Tao   250g
Beef    500g
Salt
Vegetable
Soybean sauce
Garlic
Onions
Pepper
Cook the above together for 2 hours.
Function: Relieving swelling and treating stomach cancer.
Foods for diabetes
Bitter cucumber, Winter melon, Watermelon, Chinese Yam, Bean curd, Vegetable, Apple, Shrimp, Pork, Beef, Chicken, Vitamin B1, Spinach, Bamboo.

Other Recipes
1. Jiang Tang Cu Dan (Reduce Sugar with Egg and Vinegar)
Egg    5
Vinegar  400g
Break egg and add 350g vinegar. Stir and keep in refrigeratorr for 36 hrs; add 50g vinegar again and cook.
Function: Reduce blood sugar for different kinds of diabetes

2. Cu Huang Dou (Vinegar and Soybean)
Soybean    100g
Vinegar    100g
Soak soybean in vinegar for 8 days, cook. Eating 3-6 pieces, three or six time per day
Function: Treat diabetes

3. Qing Cha Li Yu (Steam Carp with Green Tea)
Carp      1
Green tea    5 gram
Food wine    5 ml
Salt     5 gram
Cut carp stomach, clean and put tea in. steam for half hour and eat.
Function: Reduce sugar

4.  Gou Qi Zi Chao Bai Cai (Frying Gou Qi Zi with Cabbage)
Green cabbage    1 piece
Gou Qi Zi     10 gram
Sang Bai Pi    5g
Vinegar     10g
Soybean sauce    10g
Oil      10g
Burn oil, put green cabbage and vinegar on pot. Add soybean sauce, starch.
Function: Reduce sugar

5. Lu Gen Zhou (Gruel of Reed Rhizome)                   30g
Lu Geng: Fresh reed rhizome
Ging Mi: Polished round-grained rice, Semen Oryae Sativae                 100g
Water:               1500 ml
Cook for two hours
Function: Stop thirsty

6. Gou Qi Zi Lao Mian (Gou Qi Zi with Noodle)
Noodle    1 pound
Cabbage   Half pound
Green onion   2 pieces
Onion    1 piece
Carrot    2 pieces
Mushroom sauce  20 g
Salt    10g
Oil    30 ml
Gou Qi Zi    20g
Cook noodle till soft, then put into cold water.
Burn oil and fry other vegetable by mushroom sauce. Put Gou Qi Zi on top of noodle.
Function: Tonify kidney yin.

7. Cu Dan (Vinegar Eggs)
Egg        5
Seaweed   5 gram
Salt    10 gram
Vinegar    15g
Green onion   10gram
Stir egg and add warm water; add vinegar and seaweed. Steam for 20-30 minutes
Function: Stop sweating and reduce sugar
 
8 Da Bu Yin Quan Jia Fu (Happy Family with Great Yin Tonification)
Yi Ren       10g
Shan Yao       10g
Lian Zi        10g
Bei Mu        10g
Qian Shi       10g
Yu Zhu       20g


Herbal Teas
(1)Shuang Shen Shan Zha Tea
Ren Shen     30g
Tai Zi Shen     30g
Shan Zha     50g
Green Tea     10g
Grind the ingredients into small pieces or use powdered herbs instead.  Adding boiling water (500 ml) and soak for 5 minutes.
Function: Enters the Heart, tonify Qi and Yin,  invigorate blood and  stop stasis.

(2)   Long Yan Rou Tea
Long Yan Rou     50g
Green tea or black    20g
Cut Long Yan Rou into small pieces and combine with the tea.  Adding boiling water (500 ml) and soak 5 minutes.
Function: enters the Heart, tonify Yang, harmonize Heart, and calm the Shen

(3)   Jue Ming Zi Tea
Jue Ming Zi      50g
Green tea     20g
Lemon      1 piece
Roast Ju Ming Zi for  a couple minutes in a hot pan and then combine with the green tea.  Add boilins the Heart, tonify Qi and Yin,  invigorate blood and  stop stasis.

(2)   Long Yan Rou Tea
Long Yan Rou     50g
Green tea or black    20g
Cut Long Yan Rou into small pieces and combine with the tea.  Adding boiling water (500 ml) and soak 5 minutes.
Function: enters the Heart, tonify Yang, harmonize Heart, and calm the Shen

(3)   Jue Ming Zi Tea
Jue Ming Zi      50g
Green tea     20g
Lemon      1 piece
Roast Ju Ming Zi for  a couple minutes in a hot pan and then combine with the green tea.  Add boiling water (500 ml) and soak for 15 minutes.  The tea can stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Function: Enters the Liver, for hypertension and  high cholesterol.

(4)   Gou Qi Zi Tea
Gou Qi Zi     50g
Tea      20g
Combine the two ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: Enters the Kidney, tonify Kidney and Yin.
 
(5) Bo He Tea ?Common Cold
Bo He (dry or fresh)    30g
Green tea     10g
Combine the two ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: For the common cold, clear heat and soothes Liver.
 
(6) Bamboo Tea
Zhu Ru or Zhu Ye (Bamboo shavings or leaves) 30g
Green tea      10g
Bai Mao Gen      20g
Wei Jing      20g
Combine the above ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: Enters the Stomach, stops vomiting, clear Stomach heat and control thirst.
 
(7) Man Jing Zi and Tian Ma Tea
Man Jing Zi      20g
Tian Ma     20g
Green tea     10g
Combine the ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function:  Stop headache and disperse wind heat.

 (8) Xuan Mai Gan Jie Tang
Xuan Shen     20g
Mai Dong     20g
Jie Geng     15g
Gan Cao     6g
Combine the above ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: For asthma and sore throat with phlegm, clear heat and control thirst, stop cough.

(9) Pang Da Hai Tea
Pang Da Hai     20g
Green tea     20g
Combine the two ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: For sore throat and constipation, clear Lung heat, z,control thirst.

(10) Hawthorn Tea
Shan Zha (Hawthorn)    50g
Green Tea     20g
The above combination with green tea, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: Aids the Pancreas, helps digestion, invigorates blood.

 (11) Sha Shen Mai Men Dong Tang
Bei Sha Shen     20g
Mai Dong     20g
Sheng Di Huang    20g
Combine the ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: For stomachache due to heat and dryness, harmonize Stomach and tonify Yin.

 (12) Tian Men Dong Tea
Tian Men Dong            20g
Tian Hua Fen                20g
Mai Men Dong              20g
Green tea                        10g
Combine the ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: For diabetes, tonify Yin.

(13) Anti Tumor Tea

Tea
Combine the ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: Detoxify and fights cancer.

(14) Chrysanthemum Tea
Ju Hua (Chrysanthemum)   10g
Xi Yang Shen     10g
Gou Qi Zi     15g
Bing Tang (rock  sugar)   100g
Combine the ingredients, add boiling water and soak for 10 minutes.

(15) Shuang Dong  Shaung Hua Tea
Mai Dong     10g
Tian Dong     10g
Ge Gen     10g
Tian Hua Fen     10g

Combine the ingredients, add boiling water (500 ml) and soak 10 minutes.
Function: Detoxify and reduce eye itching.
